Help Me Choose A New Design

Dear TME Readers,

Running this blog has been one of the most fulfilling experiences for me, and its all because of readers like you. And today, I'd like to ask you for a quick favor.

I'm currently redesigning my blog, and would really appreciate your input on which theme you like best. Here are three designs I had made up – please cast your vote by writing me a comment with your thoughts. Also, I'd love to know if there's anything else you'd like to see in the design you like most:

Design #1:

Design #2:

Design #3:

Please tell me which one you like best (and if you hate all three, let me know that too!) Other suggestions or feedback on how to make them better is also appreciated.

Thanks so much for your input! You guys are the reason that the TME community is growing, and I want to make this blog the best that it can be for all of you.

    Love number 3.

Out of those three designs I like the first one most, closely followed by the third one. Not so keen on the second. To improve the first one, you could reduce the number of images in the header perhaps. :)

I use Google Reader, so I don't care!  But I have a very slight preference for #3.

Call me crazy but I like the current design the best.  I like the pastel green color scheme.  The bold colors in the first and third are too intense.  The design is a little loud as well I'd say.  The 2nd is OK in terms of color scheme, but a little bland.  The current design is "just right" IMO…

I agree with Alex, I kinda like your current one.
If you still change, I like 2 as its simple but needs some work to make it a bit more fun, the other one's are two busy.

First off, Vik…Very cool that you are doing this.  I work in the social media space alot, and I would like to add something like this as a case study.  Getting your audience involved in your design….A+
Next…Since your title is "There's Money Everywhere," it is ONLY appropriate that the header image have money…..actaully going EVERYWHERE…Plus the accents are green, it is perfect.

I would say the current design is better, its clutter free and easy on the eye. But here is a suggestion on the layout. It would be good if on the right hand side after "About me", you had "Connect", "Recent posts" and then lastly followed by "Free guide to article making".
Also, you could include a visitor count on your website, to add credibility :) just my 2 cents..

I like #3 best. I think it's the colors. To me, blue appears more professional or 'authoritative' if that makes sense. #1 is ok, but I don't like green, too theme-ish, and #2 is just empty looking by comparison. Good luck with your redesign!

I like #2.  I think it has a "cleaner" look and feel and not as "busy" as #1 and #3.  I also think that the font used in #1 and #3 for the title looks a little too "cartoonish".  That is my opinion.  Good luck with your goals!  You are an inspiration and I will continue to check the blog.  Have a great day!

I like the layout and features of the 1st and 3rd, but hate, hate the design of all of them. The header looks junky and spammy, and the gradated colors on the little sidebar thingies looks like it was designed 10 years ago. I think you also need a much clearer, cleaner photo of you. The one that has a funny coloration to it and is blurry and has half of your dog's face on it just does not do you justice as an expert.
I really like you and your content, though. I am glad you're working on a redesign because your content deserves a better vehicle. Can't wait to see what you decide to go with.

  10. Harry says:

I really like the third one. The color is more inviting than the first one but the first and third are both laid out well.

  11. Murlu says:

I'd say the second one overall just because it's really clean but I think you should add in that personalization that you have in the others such as your about blurb – it goes a long way ya know?

  12. Josef says:

I like the second design, it looks clear and quite nice. perfect for a serious blog and good content.
i wish for you in the future good luck and hope you will archive all your goals and targets.

  13. #3 – does it for me…partial to blue and I love the layout…

  14. Matt says:

Definitely think the current design wins over these three – spend the money and get a decent designer. These designs make it look like your site was designed in the late 90's.
I understand that you probably don't want to go all corporate, but there are designers able to balance a clean, time-appropriate look that maintains the authenticity and personality of an individual (rather than generic corporate / professional) site.
I do think that you should stay with the green theme though.
